Don’t Write For Free
Hope you had a good weekend.
Received this email from a new subscriber who is a talented musician and a darn good writer...
"Dear Mr. Manley,
"I've been told for many years that I have a way with words and write a great letter. A number of things have happened since July 1, 2005 which makes it imperative that I find some meaningful means of earning extra money.
"My weblog is at:
"I have done a lot more writing than what is up there but perhaps you might render an opinion on what I have posted as to whether or not I might be a candidate for copy writing.
"I KNOW I'm a pretty good writer but I don't know if it might be good enough to eventually make a living at it.
"Anything you might pass on to me would be greatly appreciated.
"Thanks.
"Musically yours,
"Fritz Owens"
Hi Fritz,
You're writing is good.
You should be selling stuff on your blog. Affiliate links. Google Adsense. Check out Blogging Bonanza for more info...

Just don't write for free (the first step to making money as a writer). Every email I send out has a link to a product, which if they purchase I get a cut (usually 30%).
Also, if you want to make more like $5,000-$10,000 a month, you need to learn how to sell with words. You're half-way there.
I strongly recommend you get Advertising Magic, learn how to write sales copy, and either sell on commission, sell your own products, or sell stuff for clients.
Here's the link...

If you're a musician with decades of experience, consider putting together information products on specific areas of music (e.g. how to play certain songs, certain instruments, how to find work, etc.) and sell them online and by mail. Here's a free 7-part course you can take on creating and selling information products online...

Good luck,
