“As Your Mother Country Would Say…”

Finally, Fritz Owens wrote with a good follow up story from another industry...

"That was a good response to the "scam" complaint.

"I'm reminded of the owner of a very good recording studio in New Orleans. She was approached by a well known singer. The singer had made a demo tape at another studio and it had a horrible noise in it that he wanted to get rid of if possible. She said sure.

"Ran the tape a couple of times, set up another recording machine, ran the tape again and at the proper place and time, turned a knob. When she played the tape back for the singer, the noise was gone. He was ecstatic and told her so.

"She wrote out a bill and handed it to him for $85.00 (editing in recording studios normally runs about $190.00 per hour). He was outraged and said "But all you did was turn one knob!" She took the bill back, tore it up and wrote out another one which

read:

1. Turning one knob..........$ 5.00

2. Knowing WHEN to do it..... 80.00"
