Actually, that subject line has nothing to do with this email. It was the subject line for an email I've just finished the second draft of on another site. But I liked it so much I wanted to share it with you.
It obviously got you reading this far, and I hope you don't feel like pulled the carpet from under your feet. It's actually quite appropriate for the other email promotion I'm writing.
But for this Reality Copywriting column, I wanted to share with you a few intelligent emails I received in reply to my post on Saturday. If you missed that email, you can view it by clicking here.
Excuse the awkwardness of the layout, my web designer is "redesigning" things at the moment. Wear you hard hat.

Hey John,
Enjoyed your email. It made me smile because that's exactly what I have to do. If I put the stuff away ... Out of Sight Out of Mind.
Much to my husband's chagrin my desk is always filled with stacks of papers, books, notebooks, projects or something. He used to put it away, but I think he's finally been yelled at enough that he's been leaving my stuff alone. I try to keep it stacked neatly and in some semblance of order but you know how that goes. I am surrounded.
Thanks for the advice. I thought I was just a slob.

I agree Beverly, it's that fine balance between filed away and chaos that we want to achieve.

Hi John
I totally agree with what you have said... I have tried your method and find that it helps a lot. Instead of closing the computer or a book that I need to get back to, I have been leaving them open to finish before moving on. In this way, I am utilizing my time more effectively. Thanks.
Good to hear from you.

I think Paul pointed out the other problem with putting things away... it sometimes never comes back out. With the information overload we face, it's not unusual for $100 or even $1000 info product to never be fully absorbed. I'm just getting to an info product I purchased over six months ago.
Thanks to all those who wrote. Sorry I can't reply to everything.
Some of you may be wondering why I'm writing, after "shutting down" Reality Copywriting. Well, I'll fill you in tomorrow. It's been a long day, and I still have some work to finish up.
Good night,

P.S. On the subject of time management... the most useful, experienced and funny book on the subject that I've ever read is copywriter Dan Kennedy's "No B.S. Time Management for Entrepreneurs." It's an invaluable resource at such a low price you're almost stealing it. You can "buy" your copy at...
